Reviews
A great thrift store you can save some money. You have to do some hunting.
.
Definitely some of the prices are quite overpriced, sometimes even more than the actual product in a store. So you really have to watch out and have a very good logic. logically I absolutely don’t know how savers determines the price of certain products ( I mean, these are completely donated things) how can you be the same or more expensive than a store.
.
Something different from other savers store is the organization on the shelves.
While I love this location, this one employee consistently follows me around when I’m there. I’ve tried to ignore it and assumed it was in my head previously. Today I was aggressively walking across the store whenever he got near; so if I was in jackets and he came over, I’d RUSH over to dresses as soon as he got there on the opposite end of the store. He followed. Then I would immediately go back to coats when he got there, all the way back on the other end where I just was. He followed. It really weirded me out. I just left tonight since I wasn’t finding anything good, but this happens with him specifically whenever I go past 6pm after my workout class.
Pros: Good variety of clothing (for women especially), decent organization, plenty of home goods/furniture/etc.
Cons: Most items are very overpriced, no fitting rooms, only 3 “mirrors” (essentially warped pieces of reflective metal), only self checkout, unprofessional employees, very dirty.
The selection was great, so I would have spent a lot more time (and money) here if they’d had fitting rooms. If items were cheaper, I’d be more willing to gamble without try-on. One employee bumped into me with a shopping cart then asked me to move, and another was cursing while bringing paintings inside, complaining about people who donate their art instead of selling it themselves (uh, your win?)
Odd experience. Luckily I only needed warm clothes for farm work, so the stains, hanger holes, etc. don’t matter. I did find a “George Washington for President” shirt which made my day. Also a shirt with original tags ($60) for $15, so I suppose that balances out the $10 t-shirts with armpit stains.
Patriots fan? You can build a whole new wardrobe! Want to start lying about your age? Now you’re in the class of 2020, with numerous middle school and summer camp shirts as supporting evidence! Halloween party coming up? You can be the guy in the flesh-colored bikini suit!
Have fun out there, folks.
This savers is my holy grail, I always find something funky here, the dress section is large, the home section is divine and accessories are pretty much always a hit. My savers rule is to go with a sale, and use your points on purchases over $50 best savers outside of Boston in the suburbs.
Books could use some work, and the prices have slowly crept up over the years, but overall it’s a great Savers!
Best savers ever they have so much stuff and treasures to find.
Overpriced for thrift store. Just about every shirt I was interested had a hole or a tare. There were a few broken items as well for sale and again overpriced. Smelled like urine right when you walk in and unfortunately it’s throughout the entire store. Only good thing I could say is it’s very spacious and seem to be well organized.
Yikes, this place was a mess. I am used to going to the Savers in Plaistow NH which is a lot larger, and cleaner. There were no carts when I went in, and the store was not very busy. I went outside to get a cart that had been sitting in the rain. I did enjoy the self check out, though.
We ended up with a big haul from this Savers! They have quite the book selection and the assortment of clothing and shoes is also pretty massive. Everything is always just a little untidy, but it’s a busy place so that’s to be expected - just get ready to really spend some time here to find those hidden gems. We love going here for the books! Make sure to look through all the sections because the organizational system only goes so far and there are sometimes good finds in unexpected places.
